Well, that was fun.
Our “Never Far From Fun” campaign is officially in the books and the numbers tell a great story.
The campaign for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets tapped into all the things that make fairs great: thrilling rides, delicious fair food, agricultural exhibits and live entertainment. A key piece of the strategy was an interactive website where visitors could search fairs by zip code, explore attractions, and access tailored resources. The site became the campaign’s central hub, generating an impressive 300,000 visits during the season.

To make sure the message reached New Yorkers from all corners of the state, we launched a robust media campaign that blanketed broadcast, digital and social channels to the tune of tens of thousands of strategic placements. The creative captured the essence of fair fun, encouraging people to relive cherished memories or make new ones and the campaign’s broad reach connected with an estimated 17.2 million New Yorkers – not bad in a state with a total population around 19.5 million.
Beyond drawing crowds, we focused on the fairs’ agricultural roots. Our campaign included messaging directed at farmers and exhibitors, encouraging them to participate and ensuring that fairs remained authentic showcases of New York’s agricultural heritage. Tools like customizable posters and yard signs helped local fair organizers promote their own events while staying aligned with the campaign’s overarching theme.

The campaign didn’t just bring fairgoers through the gates – it brought communities together. With over 13,500 social media interactions, the fairs came alive online as well as in person.
With fairs bringing fun, community and a little bit of nostalgia to millions, this campaign was a total win for us. We’re proud to have played a part in keeping these treasured local traditions alive and thriving.
