ABC Creative Group Develops Report on Post-Quarantine NYS Tourism

(4/23/20 – Syracuse, N.Y.) – ABC Creative Group and Drive Research partnered together to do a survey of 1,000 New Yorkers that focused on what they intend to do once travel restrictions have been lifted.

ABC has served many clients in destination marketing for nearly two decades. It is the agency’s hope the research and report will benefit all those in the tourism industry across New York State.

Since a majority of the research reported recently has been national in scope, ABC wanted to provide the true thoughts and intentions of local travelers – specifically as it pertains to drive-time destinations.

Some key findings include …

  • Post-COVID travel will largely be a no-fly zone as we expect people (71 percent) to jump into personal vehicles instead of on planes or trains. This is a major plus for drive-time friendly New York.
  • In the weeks and months after limitations are lifted, travelers will still seek social distance to some degree. This is good news for a state filled with natural attractions and smaller communities.
  • Gen Z is most anxious to hit the road as 41.3 percent checked the highest box indicating they couldn’t wait to get out and most would be traveling within a few weeks after the quarantine.

This report is good news for your community, readers and viewers. This survey shows that people are more eager than ever to get out there and bring their travel dollars to New York communities once stay-at-home orders are over.
