(10/19/21 – Syracuse, N.Y.) ABC recently collected another couple of national awards for website work. The Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts recognized the 1000 Islands site developed by ABC as well as the agency’s own abcideabased.com with prestigious Communicator Awards.
The 1000 Islands web experience took home an Award of Excellence, the Communicators’ highest honor, in the Travel/Tourism category. ABC also caught AVIVA’s attention with its own website, which earned an Award of Distinction in a category for agency sites. Props to Senior Web Developer Jon Brockett, Designer Marty Furgal and Creative Director Travis Bort, the combined minds behind both projects.
This is the second time the 1000 Islands website has been recognized with a Communicator. The unique site takes users on a journey through communities on both sides of the U.S./Canada border while also highlighting many things to do both traditionally and through a growing series of original articles. The home page also integrates plenty of Instagram and other social media photography pulled in by a third-party app.
ABC’s own web HQ draws together the ABC story through a series of slides and unique navigation. The newest additions include an extensive outline of Our Approach as well as a Scrapbook page that highlights all things ABC with plenty of behind-the-scenes videos, images and our annual yearbooks. The Work page was beefed up considerably with fresh copy and plenty of imagery covering projects new and old. The Blog continues to serve as a resource for clients and followers of our agency.
ABC celebrates a collection of more than 20 Communicator Awards earned in various categories over the years, including web and video as well as entire multimedia marketing campaigns. With over 6,000 entries received from across the U.S. and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communication professionals.
