ABC Creative Hired Through $4.2 Million Federal Grant For Statewide Recruitment & Retention Program

ABC Creative, a Syracuse-based full-service advertising firm, has been tapped to provide marketing assistance with a statewide recruitment and retention program for volunteer firefighters. The program, funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant and overseen by the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY), aims to recruit more than 15,000 volunteer first responders over the next four years.

For more than 12 years, ABC Creative has worked with the volunteer fire service on developing and executing public awareness campaigns, including those geared towards education about the volunteer fire service as well as general fire safety through traditional broadcast, print, outdoor and online marketing. ABC will work with FASNY to first conduct focus groups statewide to help develop campaign messaging and determine appropriate resources to ensure an effective recruitment effort under the auspices of the $4.2 million SAFER grant.
