ABC Creative Group-Developed Binghamton Website, Social Media Campaign Target Travelers


(8/21/14 – Syracuse, N.Y.) BingThings.com delivers the best of Binghamton’s nightlife, restaurants, arts, events, outdoors, shopping, attractions, agritourism and, of course, the city’s famous carousel collection.

The Greater Binghamton Convention & Visitors Bureau approached ABC Creative Group about creating a mobile website that targeted people visiting for business conferences, college events, weddings or other family gatherings. BingThings.com gathers the most relevant material from visitbinghamton.org and offers up what to do “While You’re Here” in a mobile-friendly format. BingThings.com takes full advantage of the mobile platform with a “Map It” function for each listing that gets visitors where they would like to go with ease.

ABC built hype for the website’s launch with a social media campaign that involved Binghamton businesses. Businesses were prompted to send in pictures using #bingthings and an assigned number representing the days until the website launch. Across Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, these photos were shared with thousands of followers to create anticipation.

In addition, sidewalk art will be all over downtown Binghamton using “#BingThings” in order to spread the word of both the social media campaign and BingThings.com.
