(7/18/23 – Troy, N.Y.) For the second consecutive year, an ABC project has been recognized by the New York State Tourism Industry Association (NYSTIA) with a Tourism Excellence Award, this time for the Cortland Curiosities campaign.
The infinitely cool and kind of creepy Strange and Forgotten History Trail is one of our favorite initiatives of late, laying out all the always fascinating, occasionally spooky and, well, just plain weird stories of Cortland County. ABC designed the website and collateral for client Experience Cortland, which brought home the hardware in the “Trails and Itineraries” category. This is the first year the category was offered by NYSTIA.
It’s just our latest brush with tourism greatness as we’re extremely proud to have our work honored several times starting in 2015 with the Brew Central campaign for Visit Central New York, which we’re still maintaining with web, social media, video and photography 10 years after launch.
Our creative was recognized in each of the subsequent three years with our Outdoor Adventure campaign for Visit Central New York, Visit Binghamton’s Bing Stories and Beyond the Big Apple, a collaboration among Visit Central New York, Dutchess and Sullivan counties. Then in 2022, we helped snag yet another Tourism Excellence Award for the Upstate Eats website, bringing the current tally to six.
Along the way, these campaigns helped us win numerous Telly and Communicator awards as well as U.S. Travel Association recognition that are national in scope and we’re thankful for the opportunity to have worked with some great destination marketing partners on these projects. We’re also proud to say these initiatives are all still going strong and we continue to crank out the quality content that will hopefully earn even more recognition. A hardy congratulations to Experience Cortland on their big win!
