OnCare Hires ABC Creative as AOR

(3/13/12 – Syracuse, NY)

OnCare of Onondaga County recently selected ABC Creative of Syracuse, NY as Agency of Record.

In 2011, ABC was hired by OnCare to develop a logo and interactive website for their System of Care. The new logo illustrates OnCare’s community commitment, and the website positions the organization as a resource for all visitors.

“We recognize the issues surrounding mental health and the importance of providing resources for families and the community,” says Travis Bort, owner of ABC Creative. “OnCare provides what families need and we are very excited to work with them to brand the organization and spread the word within the community that they are a resource.”

As AOR, ABC will be working closely with representatives from around the county, including youth, families and community groups to help provide marketing and communication support. ABC will provide OnCare with consultation, social media management, public relations assistance as well as work with the organization to develop public awareness campaigns.

About OnCare
OnCare is an Onondaga County initiative that improves outcomes for children and youth (ages 5-‐21) with significant behavioral and emotional challenges and their families by developing a more effective system of services and supports. OnCare is a federally funded project, and uses system of care principles and strategies to improve the local service system.

Providing high quality services and supports to children, youth and families has always been a priority in Onondaga County. In 2009, County Executive Joanne Mahoney supported an application for federal funds to develop an integrated system of care to improve the coordination of services provided by the Onondaga County Departments of Mental Health, Social Services and Probation. In October 2009, Onondaga County was awarded a $9 million, six-‐year grant from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (www.samhsa.gov) to develop the local system of care.

A major focus of OnCare is developing effective partnerships between the major systems that serve children and youth: mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice, education, developmental disability services and youth development programs. OnCare works with a wide range of community stakeholders, including youth and family memers, to increase the services and supports available to youth and families.
