In 2015, ABC client Visions Federal Credit Union welcomed former Duke University basketball star and current ESPN personality Jay Williams as its financial literacy partner. Jay’s promising NBA career was tragically cut short by a motorcycle accident in 2003. The New Jersey native had since built a successful career in broadcasting, business and beyond thanks to responsible money management.
Jay’s influence and large fan base make him a great fit for Visions. ABC managed his appearances in key markets with target demographics. In addition to helping Visions open offices and speaking at press conferences, Jay has presented at several Boys & Girls Clubs, high schools, the Section IV Athletic Conference for student-athletes and the African American Business Leaders Council Kickoff Cocktail Party. He was also the star participant at the Southern Tier Heart Walk for which Visions raised more than $10,000.
Jay developed a natural rapport with Visions President and CEO Ty Muse, a former basketball player himself. The two teamed up for filmed conversations about finance as well as a little fun with a “back to school” series and an appearance at a fashion show fundraiser.
